Dr. Rao earned his medical degree from University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles.  Following his graduation from medical school, Dr. Rao completed his residency training in diagnostic radiology at Hospital of St. Raphael, New Haven, CT.  He has completed a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging at University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, MD. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology.
