Florida Hospital has just matched its first class of Diagnostic Radiology residents. Our 4-year Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). We will begin our residency program with 4 PGY-2 positions in July 2012, and will reach full complement by 2015.
Florida Hospital is one of the largest healthcare systems in the country, performing over 1 million imaging studies per year and offering a wide breadth of pathologies. Because of our large case volumes, high faculty-to-resident ratio, subspecialty training and advanced technology, Florida Hospital has the ability to offer an exceptional radiology educational experience. Radiology residents will be trained with 3T MRI, PET-CT, digital mammography and bi-plane angiography equipment. Florida Hospital’s Radiology Residency will encompass the 6 ACGME competencies – patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism and systems-based practice.
Florida Hospital Radiology Residency offers complimentary food for its residents, free use of Blackberries, educational funding for scientific presentations at national meetings, research opportunities, American Institute for Radiologic Pathology (formerly known as AFIP) stipends and team-building opportunities at Orlando Magic games.
