Child-friendly Medical Staff

From their kid-friendly clothing to their gentle demeanor, the members of our pediatric imaging services staff work as a team to provide family-centered care in a pleasant, supportive environment to make the experience as comfortable as possible for patients and their families. Our care team consists of four specialized, board-certified pediatric radiologists, supported by medical physicists and specially-trained nurses, technologists and support staff. Team members interact with children and their families every day and know how to handle their special needs and address their concerns. They oversee thousands of procedures each year and work together with families, patients and referring physicians to ensure the safest and best outcome for each child.

Child-Friendly Atmosphere

Our friendly imaging rooms and dedicated waiting areas are designed especially for children and provide a comfortable, fun and healing environment to calm the anxieties that often accompany hospital visits. Decorated in soothing colors with beautiful, themed murals, our reception areas are equipped with TVs, books, toys and games to keep children happily occupied while waiting for their procedures. Our own unique, animated cartoon characters, Max & Buddy Bear add to the fun and help explain imaging procedures in simple, reassuring terms.

We can schedule you quickly and get you in and out with little work and school time missed. Complimentary valet parking is provided for your convenience. We even provide a film pick-up service at the valet parking area. From the moment you arrive, our professional staff strives to make your family's experience at Florida Hospital as pleasant as possible.

Our pediatric imaging facilities remain at the forefront, equipped with the most advanced systems available in every type of imaging technology, such as MRI, CT and ultrasound. Using the latest equipment and techniques specially designed or adapted for pediatric use, we can accommodate smaller body parts, we use lower radiation x-ray equipment and we provide a less intimidating experience overall.

More than just individual scanners, each modality is connected to our centralized data network that makes image review and storage, report generation, distribution of results, and communication among medical professionals faster and more reliable, secure and cost-effective.
