Pelvic Imaging

Pelvic Imaging

Imaging of the pelvic area in women is done for a variety of reasons and with various imaging modalities. Organs in the pelvis include the bladder, uterus, cervix, ovaries and fallopian tubes. These organs are typically the areas of study to diagnose the source of pain, abnormal bleeding, menstrual problems, infertility and other conditions involving the female reproductive organs and urinary system.

Procedures performed at Florida Hospital generally fall under three main imaging categories:

  • Ultrasound imaging
  • MRI imaging
  • HSG (hysterosalpingography)
