Medical Insurance
Family medical insurance is provided free of charge through the Florida Hospital Insurance Plan. Physician medical care co-pay is covered for office visits in all Residency offices. Dental and Vision coverage may be purchase at a minimal charge.

Prescription Plan
The Florida Hospital Prescription Plan is the policy for all employees of Florida Hospital.

Malpractice Insurance
Occurrence-based malpractice insurance is provided at no cost.

Life Insurance
Life insurance equivalent to one-year's salary is provided free of charge. Additional life insurance as well as spousal coverage may be purchased for a minimal charge.

Vacation/Personal Time
Residents receive 20 days of vacation/personal time each academic year.

Education Allowance
The education allowance is as follows:

  • PGY-2 residents receive a 5-day leave to attend conferences and expenses reimbursed up to $800.
  • PGY-3 residents receive a 5-day leave to attend conferences and expenses reimbursed up to $1500.
  • PGY-4 and 5th year residents receive a 5-day leave to attend conferences and expenses reimbursed up to $1500.

Protected education and QI time will be provided. Up to 5 days for education and 5 days for QI for PGY-3, PGY-4, and PGY-5 residents.

Professional Fees
Florida State Medical License and DEA license fees. The cost of certification classes such as ACLS are covered as necessary for meeting program requirements.

Uniforms
Residents have two white coats initially and one each year thereafter.

Meals
Residents receive all meals at no cost while on duty. Residents will have full access to the Florida Hospital physician lounge which includes complimentary Starbucks coffee station.

Parking
Free covered designated physician parking is available to all residents.
